Pricing

Honest Pricing.
No Surprises.

Every paintless dent repair cost is built from the actual damage — not a price sheet, not a guess. Wondering how much does PDR cost? Send photos and you’ll have a real number back within minutes. Door ding repair cost, dent repair pricing, paintless dent removal cost — all quoted honestly after reviewing your photos.

Satisfaction Guarantee or No Charge Applied
No Paint. No Filler. Ever.
No Carfax Record Created

The repair is the same.
The outcome expectation differs.

Both tiers preserve your factory finish. Both produce a clean, professional result. The difference is how deep the refinement goes — and what that level of detail is worth to you.

How is the price determined? Every repair is evaluated individually based on dent size, depth, location, metal type (aluminum vs. steel), panel access, and overall complexity — because not all dents are equal. Door ding-type repairs typically range from $195–$350. Complex damage involving large impacts, creases, multiple panels, or specialty materials falls under Premium pricing. In both cases, you keep your original factory paint, avoid a Carfax damage record, and every completed repair carries a satisfaction guarantee or no charge applied.

What the body shop would charge

Body shops repaint panels. PDR restores them. The results look identical to most people — but a paint thickness gauge tells the truth, and so does your Carfax.

Repair Type Dent Evo PDR Body Shop You Save Carfax Clean Factory Paint Same Day
Single Door Ding $195 – $295 $400 – $700 ~$350+ Yes Yes Yes
Minor Dent (1 panel) $250 – $350 $500 – $900 ~$450+ Yes Yes Yes
Body Line Crease $400 – $700 $800 – $1,500 ~$700+ Yes Yes Yes
Moderate Hail Damage $800 – $2,000 $2,500 – $5,000 ~$2,000+ Yes Yes 2–3 days
Severe Hail / Multi-Panel $2,000 – $4,000 $5,000 – $12,000 ~$5,000+ Yes Yes Days
Large Impact (1–2 panels) $500 – $1,500 $1,200 – $3,000 ~$1,000+ Yes Yes Yes
Body shop pricing always includes a Carfax damage record. When a body shop repaints a panel — regardless of how well it’s done — any related insurance claim creates a permanent vehicle history entry. PDR done out of pocket leaves no record. A clean Carfax is real money: studies show vehicles with damage history sell for 10–20% less at trade-in and private sale.

What goes into the number

A quote given without seeing the damage is not an honest quote. These are the variables that actually determine what your repair costs.

Size & Depth

Larger, deeper dents require more working time and greater precision. A shallow door ding and a deep impact dent are not the same job — and the price reflects that.

Location on the Panel

Dents on body lines, near edges, or over structural ribs are harder to access and require more care. A center-panel dent and a body-line crease are very different repairs.

Panel Count

Hail damage that spans the hood, roof, trunk, and doors is priced differently from a single door ding. Multi-panel damage adds time and scope to the job.

Metal Type

Aluminum panels — used on EVs, high-end vehicles, and hoods — behave differently than steel. They require specific tools and techniques, which affects the time and cost involved.

Access & Bracing

Some panels require partial disassembly to reach from behind. Limited access means more setup time. If a dent can’t be approached directly, the process takes longer.

Paint Condition

PDR requires intact paint. Cracked, chipped, or previously repainted panels change what’s possible. If paint is compromised, the repair approach and outcome change accordingly.

Before you file a claim, read this.

Filing an insurance claim creates a Carfax record that stays with your vehicle permanently — even if PDR was used and no paint was touched. That record affects resale value, trade-in offers, and how dealers price your car for years to come.

Pay Out of Pocket

  • No Carfax damage record — clean vehicle history
  • No impact on your insurance premium
  • No claim process, no waiting on adjusters
  • Faster repair — often same day
  • Usually makes financial sense for damage under $1,000

File Insurance Claim

  • Carfax damage record created — permanent vehicle history
  • Potential premium increase at renewal
  • Adjuster process adds time before repair begins
  • Deductible applies — verify it’s less than the repair cost
  • May make sense for extensive multi-panel or hail damage
The right call depends on the damage. Get a PDR estimate first — always. If the repair cost is close to or less than your deductible, paying out of pocket protects your Carfax and your resale value. If the damage is extensive and well above your deductible, insurance becomes more appropriate. Joe will give you an honest assessment of both paths.

Common questions about cost

How much does paintless dent repair cost?
Paintless dent repair cost depends on the size, depth, location, and panel material of the damage. Door ding repair cost typically falls between $195 and $350 for a single panel with intact paint. More complex damage — creases, large impacts, multi-panel hail damage, or aluminum/EV panels — falls in the $500–$4,000 range. The most accurate way to get a number is to send a photo: Joe reviews it and replies with your actual price within minutes, not a range.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. Send photos of the damage and you’ll have a real number back within minutes — not a vague range, not a “we’ll have to see it in person” non-answer. The estimate is based on what the photos show. If there’s a question about access or paint condition that photos can’t answer, that will be noted clearly in the response.
Why does PDR cost more than I expected?
PDR pricing reflects skill, training, and specialized tooling — not materials. There’s no paint, no filler, no replacement parts. What you’re paying for is the ability to move metal precisely without damaging the finish. A technician who can do that reliably on aluminum panels, body lines, and complex impact zones has spent years developing that skill. The alternative is a body shop that repaints the panel — which is visible to anyone who knows how to look, and creates a Carfax record.
Can you match a competitor’s lower quote?
Dent Evo doesn’t compete on price. A lower quote from another provider means one of a few things: they’re planning to use filler, they’re underestimating the damage, or the finished result will reflect the price. PDR results are either correct or they’re not — there’s no halfway that looks right under all lighting conditions. If you want the cheapest option, there are providers who offer that. If you want it done right, send photos.
What if the final cost is different from the estimate?
Estimates based on clear photos are accurate in the vast majority of cases. If an in-person look reveals something the photos didn’t show — hidden damage, a body line involvement that wasn’t visible, prior repair work underneath — that will be communicated before any work begins. You are never charged more than what was agreed to without your approval first.
Is there a minimum charge?
The starting point for most repairs is $195. Very small, shallow dents on accessible panels may fall at that level. More involved damage is priced based on the actual scope of the work. There is no trip fee or evaluation charge — the estimate is free and comes back fast.
Do you charge more for EVs or luxury vehicles?
Not as a blanket surcharge — but EV aluminum panels and certain exotic body materials do require different tools and more careful technique, which can affect the time involved. If your vehicle uses aluminum body panels (Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, many BMW and Audi models, among others), that will be factored into the estimate based on the specific damage, not a flat premium.
